§ 02 Leadership The three co-founders

Founded by three people who couldn’t look away.

Joy, Madeline, and Steve started Mon Ami in 2018 after watching the people closest to them — and the people serving them — struggle with systems that were never built for the job.

An old soul, Joy started volunteering in hospice and dementia care in high school. Before founding Mon Ami, she worked for the World Health Organization on their Aging team in Japan. She has a BA in Human Biology and an MBA from Stanford.

Madeline has been a respite companion to dozens of families caring for aging and disabled loved ones. Before founding Mon Ami, she ran marketing and analytics for Google in Asia. She has a BA in Education from Columbia and an MBA from Stanford.

Steve lost his mom to Alzheimer’s in 2012. Before founding Mon Ami, he co-founded Caring.com, helping families like his find the support they need for their aging loved ones. He has a mathematics degree from the University of Michigan.

    We support older adults, people with disabilities, and their caregivers by empowering the organizations that serve them. What we do affects real people — we strive to do work that matters, work that has positive impact, and we never let ourselves forget who is on the other end of it.

    We have a burning desire to solve our customers’ problems. We listen and we learn from our partners so that we constantly improve our work and deliver excellence — not what’s convenient, not what’s expected, but what actually moves the needle for them.

    We are a highly collaborative team connected by a common goal. We’re ambitious in our goals, but we never forget to treat one another with respect and kindness. A good outcome reached through a bad process isn’t actually a good outcome.

Aging and disability services touch protected health information at every step. Mon Ami is engineered — and independently audited — to meet that bar.

HIPAA

Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act

All Mon Ami systems handling Protected Health Information are HIPAA-compliant. We sign a Business Associate Agreement with every customer, encrypt PHI in transit and at rest, and maintain a documented breach-notification process.
